In the Beginning:
Think Kit Newness

The inaugural Think Kit came to be in a flurry of last minute activity. Sara and Lydia had participated in a project by Gwen Bell called Reverb. This series of writing prompts, delivered each day in December, focused on reflecting on the year behind and planning for the year ahead. Bell announced that the project needed to come to an end, but others should run with their own version.

It went like this: Sara went to Lydia and said, "I know this is crazy, because it's just a few days away. Think we can pull it off?" And that was that. We launched into a few days of frenzied activity – writing prompts, designing a logo, recruiting the team and friends to participate...

We (of course) asked our CEO Jeb, "Is it cool if we do this?" He approved, but had no idea the scope of the thing. He thought we were launching an elaborate internal editorial calendar. Ha! Only once he saw it all come together did he realize it was a public project. Thankfully, he still liked the idea.
